Tarot Reading For The Week

Symbology And Guidance

Three of Swords, Five of Pentacles, Eight of Wands

Let's Take A Look

Before I get started, I want to take a moment to fill everyone in on some changes with the Tarot Reading For The Week.  Starting next week the readings will be biweekly.  I have had the summer off, have had the time and needed the practice.   Doing the readings weekly hasn't been a problem even though it does take a lot out of me to do them.  Even though I'm still in the testing phase, I'm also surprised at the interest in the personal readings, which of course take more time to do.  As a result, I'm going to have to cut back to twice a month so I'm sure to keep my own energy up.

Now, let's see what this week's cards reflect in your life.

The Past (what has already happened) ~ Three of Swords

Taking the possibility of conflict projected by last week's Future card, the Five of Wands, it makes sense that the Three of Swords would fall in this position.  It reflects the byproduct of being asked to not fear a reevaluation of your stance, so as not to become defiant in the moment.  In order to do this, we had to know in our hearts how we really felt about the situation and why, so we could defend our stance in a balanced manner.

Did you allow yourself to openly look for the cause of any conflict you encountered this past week?  What lesson did this situation hold for you?

The Present (what is happening now, or advice regarding what we should be doing now) ~ Five of Pentacles

When I pulled this card, it seemed vaguely familiar.  I was sure I'd pulled it for a client reading, then I remembered that it fell in last week's Present spot as well. This is something that's been happening a lot since I started doing these short weekly readings; cards showing up repeatedly.  This week I'm feeling the question of commitment coming through.  We're staying the course in the midst of adversity.  The Five of Pentacles is here to find out just how committed we are.

Remember, the downtrodden figures on this card are hopeful.  In the midst of extreme adversity, they continue to be focused on a brighter day.  Their faith is just that strong.

Take a moment now to examine your expectations and motivations.  Reaffirm your commitment to your core beliefs and values so you can stay the course.

The Future (a possibility of what is to come taken in context with the rest of the reading - it is not set in stone as our thinking and choices can alter its course at any time) ~ Eight of Wands

Wands! Wands! Everywhere!  In the past two readings, this is the fourth card from the suit of Wands to appear.  The suit of Wands represents enthusiasm with a passionate drive.  The Eight of Wands arrives to tell us that it is time to take a breather.  It's great that we've been dedicated to and focused on what needs to be accomplished.  This following week we are being asked to consciously stand still and reflect.

If you can take a vacation, great!  If not, take some time to yourself with the intention of honoring and learning from what has happened, then allow yourself to surrender to the flow of what is to come.

Meet you back here next week for another, Tarot Reading For The Week ! : )
