Natural Wellness

And The Body Temple

"The doctor of the future will use not medicine in the treatment of disease,
but will educate their patient in the cause and prevention of disease." -Thomas A. Edison

Taking Responsibility For Your Health.

Natural wellness is a big part of who I am as a person. I am not writing this in an effort to get everyone to pitch their medications. Quite the contrary. I have found modern medicine to be a necessary compliment to natural wellness. If God, The Great Spirit, The Universe, put everything on Earth for us to use, then modern medicine has a place as well.

A friend of mine got caught up with some gentleman who took New Age spirituality and used it to create a following. So caught up in the ego. And she was just vulnerable enough to blindly follow his advice and stopped taking her medications. She needed that medicine. As a result, she lost her job, couldn't pay her bills, which ended her marriage and she lost her home as well. So, please don't ever stop your medications without speaking with your doctor first.

In the Celestine Prophecy, there is a moment in the adventure (can't remember which insight is involved, but that's really not the point ;) when there is a noticed and portrayed change in vibrations when the hero, who has been eating nothing but vegetables (live food) eats some meat and things change for him significantly. I'm not asking everyone to be vegetarian. I think you should eat what your body needs. I'm sharing this to get you to think about the quality and quantity of what goes into your body and how it affects your vibration ~ your ability to attract the life you are manifesting. For health reasons, years ago, I started consciously staying away from unethically raised meat. The hormones and antibiotics used in industrial farming were making a health condition worse. As time has gone on, it has become increasingly easier and cheaper to get more ethically raised meat and eggs, so I have been eating a lot more the last few years, but there was a time when I ate a more plant based diet and I can tell you that my emotional and physical well being were never more vibrant and full of energy.

On a physical level, I personally can feel the difference in the foods I eat. So why wouldn't it affect my spiritual growth if we exist on all three levels ~ body, mind and spirit?  I'm an expert with these concepts when it comes to my Self.  Everyone is different and I know people who resonate with this philosophy and those who this does not serve at all.

So, I'll be sharing a lot of what the experts have to say on subject.  I've been trying to force some posts out on these ideas myself, but the physical changes I'm going through right now are taking a lot of my creative juices.

Remember, it's all about balance.  Don't forget the body when it comes to your own personal and spiritual growth.  Don't end up like Ram Dass, spiritually enlightened and physically depleted.  He even admits that he got so wrapped up in the spiritual, his physical Self and life suffered.
