Sacred Work Space

I realize not everyone is fortunate to have their own room to claim as there personal Sacred Space.  But everyone has little spaces within their home they can make Sacred, to help cultivate the creative energy needed to manifest your goals and dreams.

When we first moved into this apartment, Ken and I were both thrilled that we would each be able to have our own office.  What a treat to live in an apartment, yet have all sorts of room for our Selves.  I was in school at the time, so my office quickly became just that; the place where I worked.  At this point in time I was creating for my Self, but not in a way that spoke to the real me.  I wanted to get my degree for me.  No other reason.  I wanted to finish what I started and I wanted to bump up my pay scale.  So, even though what I was studying was interesting, it was not my true passion and I kind of feel like the space reflects that.

This is my space in the beginning; Pre-kittens.  I loved that plant.  I felt so adult having this great room where I could go to and be uplifted by my art and my books.  This is also where I set up the space to work on my Bachelor's Degree.  I wanted a place I could relax and sleep in as well as work in.  At the time, the nature of this space was perfect for what I needed.

Honestly, I can't even imagine creating and writing for Sacred Cyber-Space in this space.  It looks great and was perfect for doing research and homework, but it is so confining and not conducive at all to the process I use now.  It doesn't take me to the place where I can create what I'm truly passionate about.

This is the space after Buddy and Zizzy destroyed all of my plants.  It looks nice, but I can see the beginning stages of my getting overwhelmed.  There was a time when I had to set my true passions aside so I could totally focus on finishing school.  There is less art and there are fewer books.

This is why I'm so excited about setting up a space purely for the creative things I want to pursue.  The things I am passionate about; my gifts.  The last six posts or so were written in my new creative space.  The whole room isn't finished, but the desk/work table surrounded by light, plants, crystals and candles has already given back to me in more ways than I could have imagined.
